Today was a very busy day in Pittsburgh for NS's Heritage fleet - six of the special locos passed through the area! The Wabash unit came though early today on the Conemaugh line headed for Enola, and the Lehigh Valley, Penn Central, and Illinois Terminal units were all on the Pittsburgh line during daylight hours. Charlie had the good fortune to see the Central of New Jersey loco (one of his favorites) on the Mon line headed south late morning; unfortunately without a camera. My "smart" phone (smarter than me anyhow) alerted me that the Savannah & Atlanta was coming through just after leaving work and I was able to snap the photo above on the curve in Manor Borough after just five minutes waiting - great timing! Who says that Chicago is the railroading center of our country????? The score: Charlie:12, Andy: 9.
